Activated Filter Media (AFM)
Activated Filter Media (AFM) is a specialized filter media made from a type of processed glass. The media undergoes three stages of activation, altering the glass’s properties to make it “self-sterilizing” and highly absorbent.
Types of AFM:
- AFM s
AFM s is hydrophilic and has a larger particle size, designed to remove heavy metal deposits such as mercury (Hg), arsenic (As), cadmium (Cd), iron (Fe), and fine particles from water. Available in grades 0 and 3. - AFM ng
AFM ng features a larger surface area compared to AFM s, making it hydrophobic (non-polar). It effectively filters fine particles, organic contaminants, and microplastics. Available in grades 1 and 2, with higher filtration performance than AFM s.
Media Sizes: AFM particles range from 0.2 mm to 4.0 mm and are categorized into four grades:
- Grade 0: 0.25 mm – 0.5 mm
- Grade 1: 0.4 mm – 0.8 mm
- Grade 2: 0.7 mm – 2.0 mm
- Grade 3: 2.0 mm – 4.0 mm
Function:
- Reduces sediment and deposits in water
Capacity Range Offered:
- Flow Rate Filtration: 0.5 m³/h up to 30 m³/h
AFM provides an advanced solution for improving water quality by efficiently reducing contaminants and ensuring cleaner, clearer water.
